(Obviously, power was restored, so I could scan and upload this.)

heh, last time the power went out down here, I also pulled out a Skyriter and smugly went to work writing… for 6 hours. Without a typewriter I would likely have actually gone crazy enough to do the things I wrote about. :D

What? Change the name of your blog/tlog?? Richard, Writing Ball, that was the first somewhat commercially produced type writer, and your website is the gran-daddy of all typer sites (I'm hypothesizing, maybe Will Davis was just as early, but I found yours first!) so to my mind, Writing Ball fits! I learned the collector's trade from you! Please, leave "change" to the politicians!

I like the ambiguity of 'writing ball'. I see people waltzing with typewriters…

There is a guy in Phoenix (I can't remember his name) who had two HHs chrome plated. Apparently it is a sight to behold. To get the body plated means that the entire machine had to be disassembled; clearly a job for a professional. The body of the machine is also part of the frame. That's why they are so heavy and obviously perfect. I am glad you have joined the ranks of HH owners. They really are fine machines.

About 10% of the entries on shopgoodwill are sitting in the top of the case peeking out like cats. It's cute but kind of an eyeroll. my Navy mill came squashed shut because they couldn't figure out how to seat it but at least it was oriented correctly.
