(If you want to use a carbon ribbon in your own SG1, you may need to alter the rate of ribbon advance. Here’s how.)

That kickass SG-1 is the perfect antidote for the Scrittore dudwriter experience.

That Lucien Crandall made the right course choice! Arten't you offering an Olivetti elective?

A stunning machine. The paint job is excellent, and it is easily my favorite machine. I've probably typed more on my SG1 than all of my other typewriters combined.

    I love the paperwork!

I'm still to get my SG1 working properly. But every time I see a post like this, I feel compelled to do so.

Ahh, the SG1. Due to the size, I absolutely limit myself to enjoying the SG1 on Bill Wahl's desk at his shop (I've typecast from that one) and Ryan Adney's when he brings it to type-ins. It's fun to visit, but I'd hate to live with one. :D

Nice typewriter…Indy. Is that hat made from wool felt?

I'd love to be a fly-on-the-wall of your office when a student comes in to enroll for Summer classes and you whip out that typewriter to fill it in. This typewriter was repainted by an auto body shop? Somebody really gave that machine some TLC. And you scored it for ten bucks! Miracles DO happen. But then, that SG-1 is in good hands now.

I'm sort of with Ted on the size issue. But if I found an intact machine, and had enough brownie points in the domestic account, I'd jump at the chance!

Are there any seats left in Philosophy of Typing? Maybe I could just audit. :-)

Heh, glad you like the hat. Yes, I think it's wool. Very durable, I've owned it for about 20 years.

Heh. I never thought I'd want another standard machine, but now I do. That thing is gorgeous!
