Thank you very much for this beautiful post. I corresponded only a few times with Garrett, but his warmth, humor, and intelligence had me looking forward to more letters and IG livecasts. I am still feeling the loss of him. Sending much sympathy to his family and those in his inner circle.

    Sad to loose a Typoshpereian.
I never knew of him until now since I don't social media anything.

It sounds like Garrett like was a wonderful guy. The Typewriter community has lost a 'treasure' for sure!

Garrett was a great fellow – I only got to work with him briefly, but it was a joy.

My handful of warm, sincere, clever typed letters from Garrett is a treasure, and I too am deeply feeling the loss of all that will now never be.

Nice tribute! A friend who knew Garrett asked me about if I knew about him among the typo-community. I thought no. But I reached for your latest collection, and checked the index. No, apparently he was not included there. But now I see he used a pen name. I loved his story. Richard, why dis he use a nom d' plume?

I don't think he explained it to us directly. I believe he just enjoyed the freedom that comes with privacy.

    Lovely typeface. <3

It reminds me of the good, old times in black and white, when radio was the only mass media and Art Deco was trendy in architecture. All was fancy out there, including this lovely typeface. <3

I never met Garret's texts, but I bet they are great. ;)
