Not just temples, but the very gods themselves! When did you snag these? Or did you always have them of long standing?

The no. 10 has been in my collection for maybe 12 years, but the no. 6 is a brand-new addition. An addition that I can't really afford — so it's probably going to go on eBay pretty soon. Too bad, because the 6 and 10 are individual designs with their own looks and mechanisms; I'd like to keep them both. Maybe I will, and will sell something else of similar value.

They look very architectural. That domed trash can is almost in line to make it look like it's perched on top. Very nice!

    Very nice, and interesting, machines.

Those old ones always look so other-worldly. Almost as if they were based on some idea of what a writing machine might look like. The Parthenon with the amphitheatre atop. House of the gods with a place for letters to do battle in the name of entertainment – appropriate forms really.

My partner James, who is an artist and designer, always says that a pair (or three) of something is ALWAYS more powerful than one.

I was VERY much struck by the two of these Salters — different model years, yes — but definitely identifiable as a brand — sitting in the same space.

I strongly encourage you to keep both, even though it's a stretch. The sum of the two is definitely greater than its parts.

Does that make me an "enabler"? Perhaps…but there is something quite artistic and special about having both machines.
