Here are my reflections on this post by The Philosophy Teacher…

    Yes! That exactly!
To haul out the old Socialist meme, a typewriter is in fact the purest essence of "Production for Use", in that the object is incomplete without its user. Typewriter porn is so alluring because we want to touch the keys ourselves – we imagine ourselves running our hands over the chrome and painted metal and putting our own words into the machine.

On a personal note, I'm confused that Philosophy Teacher disabled comments on his blog. Seems to disencourage the very conversations he seems to be interested in starting.

    Very well thought out, Richard.

As for why Philosophy Teacher disabled comments to his blog, I can only say that the result seems to be, as you've demonstrated herein, to comment means to make a lengthy, thoughtful response on one's own blog; which might be a deeper, more meaningful way of responding than a mere quick comment. When served lemons, make lemonade!

Richard, I also meant to say that I love the paper you've used, and the typing between the lines.

The Philosophy Teacher's blog appears to be "private" now. I didn't know there was such a thing as a private blog.
