   How does the Emerson "feel" when typing? Mine was in pretty bad shape, and I never got it to work right. Yours looks to be in beautiful shape.

   Well, this one works but it's very slow, and the ribbon is dry—so here's the moment for me to confess that I typed the text on my Remington Noiseless no. 7, then slipped it into the Emerson. I do think that with a good cleaning, lube, and general tune-up, the Emerson will work reasonably well. Keep watching …
